How Much to Charge for a Magic Mirror Photo Booth at Holiday Parties

Updated November 2026 · 3 min read

Charge $1,245 for 4 hours with unlimited prints for a magic mirror at a holiday party, or about $1,400 with a premium backdrop, using example benchmarks for a mid-size US metro. Hotel ballroom parties and holiday galas are the mirror's December market, and New Year's Eve is the night to charge your highest rate of the year.

Holiday clients want a print that feels like a keepsake, and December dates are scarce. Both work in your favor if you hold your price.

Worked example: a 300-guest company holiday gala

A hotel ballroom inside your radius, with booth service from 7:00 to 11:00 pm:

  • Mirror Celebration, 4 hours (unlimited prints, custom holiday overlay, props, standard backdrop): $1,245
  • Premium shimmer or sequin backdrop instead of the standard: $155 more ($250 minus the included $95)
  • Total: $1,400. Retainer $420; balance $980.

Costs: $225 plus $25 for the fourth hour = $250. Card fees: $40.60 + $0.60 = $41.20. Contribution: about $1,108.80, before extra print media.

At 30-plus sessions an hour, 4 hours gives 120 or more sessions. Holiday guests come as couples and departments, so that covers most of a 300-person room. For 400 or more, add a fifth hour at $175.

Pricing New Year's Eve

NYE is the one night when the right move is your highest rate of the year with no discounts. One way to apply that, as an example: sell only Mirror Grand ($1,695, 5 hours) on December 31, so NYE never goes out at the Essentials price.

Grand's 5 hours, from 8:30 pm to 1:30 am, cover the countdown with time on both sides. Count your costs honestly: if you pay attendants a holiday premium that night, raise the labor line in the calculator for that booking. Decide the NYE policy before the first inquiry arrives, then apply it to everyone.

Book-by-October and the December calendar

Company holiday parties book 2 to 4 months ahead, so pitch HR and event managers in September and close with a book-by-October 31 offer: a free holiday overlay and props. On Mirror Essentials the props are already included, so the custom holiday overlay, a $75 value, is the bonus.

December Thursdays and Fridays go first. A December Saturday may also be wanted for a wedding that booked the same mirror months earlier, so check the calendar before you hold a date for a client who has not paid.

Hotel and venue logistics that belong in the quote

  1. Loading dock and freight elevator windows, written into the event details.
  2. Parking and valet billed to the client at cost; a hotel dock fee added to the quote if one applies.
  3. A certificate of insurance naming the hotel. December brings a pile of COI requests, so ask your broker early in the season.
  4. A cart for the 70 to 80 lb mirror unit and long service corridors.

None of these change your rate, and all of them can cost you the setup window if you leave them to the day.

December contract terms worth a second look

Snow and ice. Severe weather that shuts the venue is force majeure, and the date moves to a new one within 12 months. A forecast of flurries is not.

Budget cuts. A party cancelled 30 to 59 days out owes half the total; inside 30 days, all of it.

Running late. Extensions past the booked end are sold in full-hour blocks, and only if you are not due at another venue.

Open bar. The attendant can pause the booth for guests who are abusive or misusing props.

Confirm with a local attorney that your cancellation schedule holds up under your state's rules.

Questions operators ask

Do holiday clients want prints or digital?

Both, but the print is the reason they pick a mirror over an iPad or a 360. A holiday print goes home and often lands on a fridge or a desk, which keeps your name in front of next year's planner.

Can I book a holiday lunch and an evening party with the mirror?

Only with plenty of slack. The mirror takes 60 minutes to set up and 30 to 45 minutes to break down, and it is heavy, so the iPad is the better booth for December double-headers.

What if an early NYE inquiry comes in at my normal rate?

Quote your NYE policy, not the standard rate card. If you publish which dates carry higher pricing, the reschedule clause also covers clients who later move onto one of those dates, since they pay the difference.

Should the holiday overlay be generic or custom?

Custom, with the company name and the year, because a generic snowflake frame looks like every other party in the gallery. Celebration includes the custom overlay, and the October booking bonus covers it on Essentials.
